How much does porta potty rental cost in New Haven?
Price depends on the unit and how long you keep it. A standard porta potty rental is the workhorse and the cheapest option. Step up to a deluxe flushable porta potty if you want a foot-pump flush and a sink, or an ADA accessible porta potty for wheelchair access. Delivery is a separate line. Our full porta potty rental cost page breaks down every unit.
| Unit | Day | Week | Month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $100-$350 | $130-$500 | $125-$325 |
| Deluxe flushable | $85-$1200 | $150-$290 | - |
| ADA | $200-$400 | $240-$240 | - |
Weekend rates run different from weekday. A standard unit over a weekend usually lands between $125 and $400. For a longer job, check the monthly porta potty rental numbers, and for short jobs the per-day rate is what you want.
How many porta potties do I need?
Depends on your crew. OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) sets one toilet for up to 20 workers on a construction site, then adds a seat and a urinal per 40 workers past that. At 200 or more, it shifts to one seat and one urinal per 50. Our how many porta potties do I need guide walks the math for events too. If you run construction site services, those ratios matter for inspections. The full breakdown lives on the OSHA portable toilet requirements page. Events count heads differently, and beer changes the number fast. A wedding, a festival, a concert or a golf tournament each need their own tally. For a big crowd, a restroom trailer rental beats a row of single units. Not sure? Send us the guest count on the quote form.

What is the difference between a standard and a luxury unit?
A standard portable toilet rental has a 60 to 70 gallon holding tank and sits about 44 by 48 inches on the ground, standing near 92 inches tall. It flushes nothing. It works. A nice or fancy porta potty is the deluxe model with a flush and a hand sink. Want the top end? A luxury restroom trailer has climate control, real sinks and stalls. Those come as a 2 stall, a 4 stall or an 8 stall restroom trailer depending on headcount. For a wedding restroom rental or a film set, that jump is worth it. ADA units meet ADA Standards section 404.2.3, which sets a 32 inch clear door opening, and section 304.3.1, which needs a 60 inch turning circle inside. See the ADA restroom requirements page for the rest of the specs.

Do I need a permit to place a porta potty in New Haven?
If the unit sits on your own property or a private job site, you generally do not. Placement in the public right of way, like a sidewalk or a street in New Haven, needs confirming with the city before we drop it. We do not have that rule verified, so we will not name a code we cannot back. Check with the city yourself, and read our porta potty permit requirements page for what to ask. Placement matters as much as the permit. The placement guide covers firm ground, service truck access and door swing. ADA Standards section 302.1 requires a stable, firm, slip resistant surface under an accessible unit, so gravel and mud are out. If you need a handwashing station rental beside it, tell us when you book so we set both in one trip.

How often do porta potties get serviced?
Once a week is the baseline. ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sets one service visit per week for up to 10 users over a 40 hour week. Heavy use or hot weather pushes that to twice. Every visit pumps the tank, refills the paper and deodorizer, and wipes it down. Our how often are porta potties cleaned page shows the steps, and if you worry about odor, read do porta potties smell. For washing where crews handle paints, coatings, herbicides or insecticides, OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) requires washing facilities, and a portable sink rental covers it. 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2) says those sinks need soap and towels, not just sanitizer. We also run septic pumping service, roll-off dumpster rental, storage container rental and temporary fence rental if your site needs more than toilets.
Are you one of the porta potty rental companies that serve nearby towns?
Yes. New Haven Porta Pros covers the city and the towns around it. West Haven sits 4.3 miles southwest, Hamden is 7.0 miles north, and Milford city runs 10.4 miles southwest. See the full service areas list or the West Haven page.
What is the cheapest porta potty rental?
A standard single unit on a short rental is the cheapest option, starting near the low end of the day band. Skip the flush and the trailer. Batch your rental to one delivery to save the trip fee. Compare exact numbers on the porta potty rental cost page.
Can I rent a porta potty for one weekend?
Yes. Weekend rentals are common for parties and one-day jobs. A standard unit over a weekend runs about $125 to $400 including the drop and pickup. Book early in busy season so we have a unit free. Use the event restroom rental page to plan headcount.
Do you handle emergencies?
We do. Storm response, a broken sewer line, a sudden event overflow. Our emergency porta potty rental line covers same-day drops when we have stock, and emergency septic service handles backups. For disaster relief sanitation at scale, call and describe the site.
What size dumpster goes with a renovation job?
Depends on the debris. A 10 yard dumpster suits a small home renovation porta potty job, while a 20 yard or 30 yard fits bigger tear-outs. A roll-off delivery needs about 60 feet of straight clearance behind the truck. See dumpster sizes and dimensions.
